PHILIPPIANS 4:11, Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:
So many people do not know true contentment in their lives. They keep waiting for their situation to change. Many believe that if they only had more money or if their home situation would change then they would know contentment and at last they would be happy and at peace. Many pastors and leaders are convinced that if they had "better" people to lead without so many problems then they could be successful in ministry and find the contentment that seems so lacking in their service to the Lord. There seem to be as many reasons are there are people as to why we cannot find contentment in our lives. Paul by the Holy Spirit looks into all these reasons that we use for why we are discontented and declares that contentment does not come by an improvement in our circumstances but rather by a closer relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul had LEARNED that he could be at peace and filled with contentment and satisfaction regardless of his natural state. The Holy Spirit is calling us to this same revelation today.

1 TIMOTHY 6:6, Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
What often happens is that the enemy of our soul plays upon our discontentment and drives us on in a pursuit of the thing we are deceived into thinking is the answer. He causes many to constantly drift from church to church without ever really putting down roots and becoming able to grow and become fruitful. Others enter into relationships and marriages that God has not led them to in the hope that the other person will be the one to make them happy. The resulting pressure unfairly placed upon the other person often results in brokenness and heart ache as the relationship breaks from the strain. Some leave their ministry call behind to pursue riches or a more prominent place on the job or in society only to realize after they arrive there that it cannot and will not satisfy. The word of God speaks into this madness and declares that no matter what your current situation you can have victory. Even with storms raging all around you, you can know peace that is beyond comprehension. (PHILIPPIANS 4:7) The answer is not a change of circumstances. The answer is a change of mind. Repent! Turn your eyes upon Jesus. He is enough!
HEBREWS 13:5, Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
